Guizotia jacksonii is a perennial plant with yellow flowerheads and ovate leaves that belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is found only in Kenya, specifically in the central highlands, and grows in open areas along roads and in forests. The plant was first described in 1902 by Spencer Le Marchant Moore as Coreopsis jacksonii, but was later assigned to the genus Guizotia by John Hutchinson. It has also been described under other names such as Bidens spathulata and Guizotia reptans var. keniensis. The plant is low-growing, with stems that can reach up to 30 cm in length and leaves that are oval in shape and have small teeth along the edges. The flowerheads are located at the tips of the stems and have yellow ray florets on the outside and disc florets in the middle. The plant is only found in certain areas of Kenya, including Mount Elgon, Cherangani Hills Forest, and Mau Forest, at altitudes between 2350-3900 meters.
