Gazania rigens, also known as treasure flower, is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to coastal areas of southern Africa but has been naturalized in other regions and is commonly grown as an ornamental plant. This low-growing perennial has blue-grey foliage and produces bright yellow daisy-like flowers throughout the summer. It is well-adapted to Mediterranean climates and can tolerate dryness and poor soils. Gazania rigens is usually grown as a half-hardy annual in temperate regions and has three recognized varieties with different leaf and flower characteristics.
