Eucephalus elegans, also known as elegant aster, is a type of flowering plant found in the western United States. It is commonly found in the Great Basin region, specifically in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. This perennial herb can grow up to 70 cm tall and has a woody caudex. It produces 3-15 flower heads, each with 5-8 purple ray florets and numerous yellow disc florets. Its showy appearance makes it a popular choice for gardens and landscapes.
