Deinandra conjugens, also known as Otay tarplant or Otay tarweed, is a rare species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to a small area in northern Baja California, Mexico and San Diego County, California in the United States. This plant is threatened by habitat destruction and was listed as a federally threatened species in 1998. It grows up to 0.5 meters tall and has yellow flowers that are pollinated by bees. Most of the known populations are in San Diego County, with some occurrences thought to have been lost since the plant was listed. Conservation efforts have been made to protect the remaining populations, but the plant is still at risk due to habitat degradation from introduced weeds, off-road vehicles, and other human activities. The status and distribution of this plant in Mexico is currently unknown.
