Baccharis vanessae is a rare species of shrub native to San Diego County, California, with a few populations in Riverside County. It is a federally listed threatened species, with only about 2000 individuals remaining in 15 populations. It is a sticky, glandular shrub producing dense, branching, erect stems up to 2 meters in height, with linear leaves up to 4.5 centimetres (1.8 in) long. It is threatened by habitat destruction, fire suppression, and introduced species of plants. It is named after Vanessa Beth Beauchamp, first daughter of the botanist who first described the species.
