Arnica cernua, also known as serpentine arnica, is a perennial herb found in the Klamath Mountains of northern California and southern Oregon. It grows up to 30 centimeters tall and has green to purplish stems with 3-4 pairs of oval to spade-shaped leaves. The inflorescence contains hairy, glandular, daisylike flower heads with yellow disc florets and yellow ray florets that can reach up to 3 centimeters in length. The fruit is a cylindrical achene covered in stiff hairs and has a white pappus at one end. This plant is commonly found in serpentine soils and is a member of the serpentine soils flora.
