Vanda tessellata, also known as Grey orchid or Checkered Vanda, is a species of orchid found in the Indian subcontinent and Indochina. It is an epiphytic perennial with succulent leaves and yellow flowers with brown lines and white margins. The plant has medicinal properties and is used in traditional practices for various ailments such as dyspepsia, bronchitis, and rheumatism. It contains alkaloids, glucosides, and other compounds that have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. In 2013, a novel aphrodisiac compound was discovered in the plant. In some regions, the plant is also used as an entheogen, believed to induce a transcendent state of being.
