Paphinia hirtzii is a type of orchid that is found only in Ecuador. It was first classified by Calaway H. Dodson in 1989 and the original specimen is kept at the Herbario Nacional del Ecuador. This orchid is an epiphyte with short rhizomes and narrow leaves. Its flowers grow from the base of the pseudobulb and are surrounded by 2-4 sheaths. More information on the flower morphology is currently unavailable.
