It is a small, terrestrial orchid that grows in moist, shady forests at elevations of 500-2,000 meters. The plant has a single, erect stem that grows up to 15 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate and arranged in two rows. The flowers are small, yellowish-green, and arranged in a dense, terminal inflorescence. The flowers have a long, curved spur and a three-lobed lip. Gastrochilus inconspicuus is a small, terrestrial orchid native to the Himalayas of Nepal, India, Bhutan, Sikkim, and Assam, south to Bangladesh. It grows in moist, shady forests at elevations of 500-2,000 meters and has a single, erect stem that grows up to 15 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate and arranged in two rows, and the flowers are small, yellowish-green, and arranged in a dense, terminal inflorescence. The flowers have a long, curved spur and a three-lobed lip.
