Epidendrum stenophyton is a reed-stemmed Epidendrum orchid found in the high-altitude tropics of Ecuador and Peru. It grows from a half to a meter tall with a round stem no more than 4 mm in diameter. The leathery leaves are ovate-oblong, obtuse at the end, and curve backward at the edges. The erect racemose inflorescence arises from the apex of the stem, with pale rose, green, or yellow flowers that do not open widely. The cordate lip is adnate to the column to its apex and has an entire margin.
