Epidendrum brachyglossum is a type of orchid found in the western slopes of the Andes in South America. It can be found at different altitudes, ranging from 1.8 km to 2.8 km. This plant has slender stems with thick roots at the base and produces linear-oblong leaves. Its inflorescence is long and bears many fleshy, green flowers with darker sepals and lighter petals. The lip of the flower is also green with red-purple spots and a red-purple callus. This species is a sympodial epiphyte, meaning it grows on other plants for support.
