Cephalanthera erecta, also known as the erect cephalanthera, is a type of terrestrial orchid found in various regions including China, Japan, Korea, and the Himalayas. In Japan, it is referred to as "gin-ran" or the "silver orchid", while in China it is known as "yin lan". This species has a unique form called subaphylla, which obtains most of its carbon through mycoheterotrophy, a process where it relies on fungi for nutrients. It is commonly associated with Thelephoraceae fungi.
