Calochilus pulchellus, also known as the pretty beard orchid, is a rare species of orchid found only on the south coast of New South Wales. It has a single dark green leaf with a dark red base and up to five pale green to greenish yellow flowers with red striations and a distinctive coppery red "beard" on its labellum. This orchid is only found in three known sites, with a population of fewer than thirty plants. It is a terrestrial, perennial herb with a short flowering period from October to November. The species was first described in 2006 and is listed as endangered due to its small population size. The main threat to its survival is habitat loss.
