Calochilus psednus, also known as the Cardwell beard orchid, is a rare orchid species found only in Queensland, Australia. It has bluish green flowers with reddish brown lines and a purplish "beard" on its labellum. The plant is leafless when it flowers and is only found in a small area near Cardwell. It has a single dark green leaf and up to three flowers on a thin, wiry stem. The labellum is shiny reddish brown with short purple hairs. This orchid is endangered due to its limited distribution and potential threats such as changed fire regimes, weed invasion, and road maintenance. It was first described in 1989 and its name comes from the Ancient Greek word for "thin" or "bald". It grows in broad-leafed paperbark woodland with dense shrubs and sedges.
