It is native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, particularly in the countries of Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The plant grows as an epiphyte, meaning it grows on other plants or trees, and has long, thin, curved pseudobulbs with yellow-green flowers. It is an easy to grow species, and is often used as a beginner orchid for those just starting out in orchid cultivation. It is also a popular choice for hybridization, and many cultivars have been created from this species.
