Bulbophyllum lichenoides is a type of orchid that belongs to the Bulbophyllum genus. This plant is not poisonous and can be found in New Guinea, specifically on trees in range forests at elevations of 800 meters. It is a very small plant with cylindrical pseudobulbs and a single, oblong leaf. It blooms in late winter and early spring with a single flower on a short inflorescence. According to Schlechter, this plant is so tiny and delicate that it resembles a lichen. Its flowers are the smallest in its section and come in shades of violet red or violet brown with a dark purple lip.
