It is native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, where it grows as an epiphyte on trees. The plant has a long, thin stem with a single, large, yellow-green flower. The petals of the flower are deeply divided into two lobes, giving the flower a unique, fissipetalous shape. The flower has a strong, sweet scent and is pollinated by bees and other insects. The plant is easy to grow and can be propagated by division or by seed. It is an attractive addition to any orchid collection and can be grown indoors or outdoors.
