Gladiolus illyricus, also known as the wild gladiolus, is a tall plant that can reach up to 50 centimeters in height. It is primarily found in western and southern Europe, with a small population also known in the New Forest region of Britain. However, it is believed that this population may have been introduced. In 1975, it was designated as a protected species in the UK under the Conservation of Wild Creatures and Wild Plants Act.
