Crocus gargaricus is a species of flowering plant in the Crocus genus, belonging to the Iridaceae family. It is a perennial plant that is native to Turkey and grows from a corm. The plant has small, bright yellow to orange flowers with three branched styles. It produces three or four narrow leaves and blooms from February to March. Crocus gargaricus is known for its quick reproduction through stolons, which form new corms. This plant is typically found in damp pastures and open pine woodlands at elevations between 1200 to 2300 meters. It is often found near snow melt in mountain meadows with peaty soils, growing alongside Pinus nigra ssp. pallasiana and Abies nordmanniana ssp. bornmuelleria.
