Haworthia decipiens, also known as "Papierrosie," is a species of succulent plant in the Asphodelaceae family. It is native to the Western Cape and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa. This plant is often confused with its western relative, Haworthia arachnoidea, and is difficult to identify due to its variability. It has rosettes of succulent leaves covered in soft bristles, which dry and contract during drought. This species can be distinguished by its shorter, wider leaves, lighter color, and sparse bristles mainly on the leaf margins. It has a range of local forms and varieties and typically blooms in the spring. Haworthia decipiens is found in a wide range of habitats, usually in the shelter of protective shading bushes. Its distribution extends from near Prince Albert in the west to Uniondale and Willowmore in the Eastern Cape.
