Aloe inyangensis is a unique succulent plant species that can only be found in the mountainous Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. It prefers shady conditions but can also be found in open areas on mountain tops. There are two subspecies, with one being more common in the northern part of its range and the other being sturdier and found towards the southern end. This small herbaceous plant has stiff, succulent leaves and grows in clumps up to 20-30 cm high. It blooms year-round with attractive crimson flowers on long stalks above the foliage. A. inyangensis is strictly found in woodland and wet forest on mountain sides above 1500 m altitude, with its main population being in the northern part of Manicaland. It is also found on Mount Inyangani and the Bvumba mountains. Despite its limited distribution, it is relatively common in its environment and easy to spot.
