Nolina bigelovii, also known as Bigelow's nolina or beargrass, is a flowering plant found in the Southwestern United States, California, and northwest Mexico. It can grow in extremely dry desert areas and at elevations up to 1,500 metres. This plant is most commonly found in the Lower Colorado River Valley, particularly in the western Arizona Sonoran Desert and the mountains of southern California's Colorado Desert. It can also be found in the Peninsular Ranges of Baja California and Isla Ángel de la Guarda in the northern Gulf of California. The Nolina bigelovii plant has a trunk-like stem that can reach over 2 metres in length, with thick and fleshy leaves arranged in rosettes. Its inflorescence can grow up to 4 metres in height and produces small flowers with six whitish tepals. This plant is an important part of the desert ecosystem and is well adapted to thrive in harsh desert conditions.
