Dracaena kaweesakii, also known as Kaweesak's dragon tree, is a unique species of tree found only in the Loei and Lop Buri Provinces of Thailand. It can grow up to 12 meters in height and has a distinctive branching system with hundreds of branches. The leaves are sword-shaped with white edges and grow in clusters of 20-50, reaching up to 60 centimeters in length. The tree produces cream-colored flowers with orange filaments and brown fruit that turns orange when ripe. It is typically found on limestone mountains at altitudes of 550 to 2,000 meters. Due to its limited distribution and the harvesting of limestone, it is considered an endangered species with a population of less than 2500. In 2013, it was named one of the "Top 10 New Species" by the International Institute for Species Exploration. The tree is commonly used in Thai horticulture and is believed to bring good luck to those who have it in their yards. It was first described in 2013 and named after one of the team members who identified it as a unique species.
