Calectasia hispida, also known as blue tinsel lily or hispid tinsel lily, is a perennial herb found in the south-west region of Western Australia. It belongs to the family Dasypogonaceae and is similar to other species of Calectasia. It can be identified by its hairy leaves and smooth throat of its flowers. This plant grows up to 45 cm in height and has short side branches. Its leaves are covered with bristly hairs and its flowers have a blue, star-like pattern that fades to pale blue with age. Calectasia hispida was first described in 2001 and is one of eleven species in the Calectasia genus. It is commonly found in Watheroo and Alexander Morrison national parks, growing in shallow sand over laterite on kwongan slopes. This species is not considered threatened and is listed as "not threatened" by the Western Australian Government Department of Parks and Wildlife.
