Calectasia grandiflora, also known as the blue tinsel lily, is a perennial herb found in the south-west region of Western Australia. It can grow up to 60 cm in height and has blue petals that turn red as they age. The plant flowers in spring and is part of the Calectasia genus, with 11 known species. It was first described in 1846 and its name refers to its large flowers. The blue tinsel lily can be found in various habitats, including swamps, rock outcrops, and slopes. It is not currently considered a threatened species.
