Thrinax parviflora is a palm tree that is native to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. It can be found in open and rocky, seasonally dry deciduous forests up to 900 meters in elevation. Some botanists recognize two subspecies of this palm, with one being Thrinax parviflora var. parviflora. The palm has a slender, smooth trunk that can reach a maximum height of 50 feet and is topped by an open crown of small, thick, and leathery fan leaves. These leaves have a unique appearance with twisted and curled, heavily veined grass green segments. While this palm is rare in cultivation, it is expected to thrive in subtropical and warm temperate climates, as it can tolerate drier conditions and some frost. It is also tolerant of limerock and coastal exposure.
