Caryota obtusa is a tall, tree-like flowering plant found in India, Laos, and Thailand. Also known as the giant fishtail palm or Thai giant caryota, it can grow up to 20 meters in height and is classified as a tree. This species is unique in that it only flowers once before dying, and its inflorescence can reach an impressive length of 6 meters or more.
