Calyptrocalyx hollrungii is a small, solitary palm, growing up to 3 m tall, with a slender trunk and a crown of up to 10 leaves. The leaves are pinnate, with a length of up to 1.5 m. The inflorescences are branched, with up to 30 flowers. The fruits are ovoid, with a length of up to 2 cm.
