Arenga engleri, also known as the Formosa palm, Taiwan sugar palm, dwarf sugar palm, or Taiwan arenga palm, is a small species of flowering plant in the palm family. It is typically less than 10 feet tall with a stem diameter of 6 inches and a spread of 16 feet. This palm is native to Taiwan and Japan's Ryukyu Islands. However, caution should be taken when handling its fruit as it is known to cause a severe allergic reaction.
