Polyscias guilfoylei, also known as geranium aralia or wild coffee, is an evergreen shrub found in the paleotropics and neotropics. Despite its name, it is not closely related to true coffee plants. It can grow up to 24 feet tall and has erect branches with long, 1-pinnate leaves that are commonly variegated with white or pale yellow margins. The insignificant flowers form as green umbels and are followed by black berries. The cultivar 'Victoriae' has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit for its strongly variegated leaves. This plant cannot tolerate temperatures below 15°C and must be grown under glass in temperate zones.
