Astrotricha latifolia, also known as the broad-leaf star hair, is a plant native to eastern Australia. It is a shrub that can grow up to 3 meters tall, but can reach up to 9 meters and resemble a small tree in the eucalyptus understorey. The plant gets its name from the Greek words for "star hairs" due to the star-like hairs that cover it. Its leaves are broad, measuring 2 to 8 cm wide and 8 to 22 cm long, with long stems ranging from 2.5 to 8 cm. It can be found in a variety of soil types, typically in moist gullies and on the edges of rainforests, at altitudes ranging from sea level to 1500 meters. Its glossy green leaves have a woolly and pale underside, and it produces yellow-green flowers in October and November. The southernmost limit of its natural distribution is in the forest areas near Narooma in southern coastal New South Wales.
