Platysace compressa, also known as the tapeworm plant, is a perennial herb native to Western Australia. It grows up to 1.2 meters tall and produces white to cream flowers between September and March. This plant can be found on sand dunes, coastal limestone or granite hills, and rocky outcrops along the south coast of Western Australia. It was first described by botanist J.J.H. de Labillardiere in 1805 and later reclassified by Kurt Polycarp Joachim Sprengel in 1818. In 1939, it was finally classified under the Platysace genus by C. Norman.
