Peucedanum officinale, also known as hog's fennel or sulphurweed, is a herbaceous perennial plant found in Central and Southern Europe, as well as in certain areas of the UK. It grows up to 2 meters tall and has greenish-yellow flowers and dark green leaves with linear lobes. This plant has been used for medicinal purposes since the 17th century and is known for its strong, sulphurous scent. The root of the plant yields a yellowish-green latex that can be used to make a decoction with diuretic, sudorific, and antiscorbutic properties. It has also been used in veterinary medicine. However, the plant is now rare in the UK, with only a few localities where it can be found.
