Oenanthe pimpinelloides, also known as corky-fruited water-dropwort, is a flowering plant in the Apiaceae family. It is a hairless, upright perennial with a solid stem, reaching up to 100 cm in height. The plant has ovoid tubers near its base and its leaves are twice pinnate with broad, toothed segments. It produces small white flowers in umbels, with both male-only and bisexual flowers. The fruit is a hard capsule that splits into two one-seeded parts. This plant is found in damp or dry grasslands and ruderal tall herb communities. It is often confused with other species in the genus, but can be distinguished by its dry habitat and flat-topped umbels. It is widely distributed in Europe and parts of Asia, and is naturalized in some areas. While its close relative, hemlock water-dropwort, is highly poisonous, there are no records of corky-fruited water-dropwort being harmful to humans or livestock. In fact, it is consumed by locals in Turkey as a digestive stimulant.
