Lomatium lucidum, also known as shiny biscuitroot, is a flowering plant found in coastal mountains and canyons of southern California and Baja California. It is commonly found in chaparral plant communities, including areas that have recently been burned. This perennial herb can grow up to a meter tall and has toothed, three-lobed leaves that can reach up to 24 centimeters in length. Its yellow flowers are arranged in a webbed umbel on a tall stem. This plant is mainly found in the eastern Transverse Ranges and the South Coast region.
