Rattlesnake master is a medicinal plant. Native Americans used it to treat a variety of ailments, including snakebite, respiratory problems, and skin diseases. It is still used in herbal medicine today.

In summary, Eryngium yuccifolium, commonly known as rattlesnake master, is a perennial herb of the parsley family native to the tallgrass prairies of central and eastern North America. It has stiff, long and narrow leaves with a sharp tip, and produces dense, ball-shaped umbels of flowers at the top of each stem. It is fairly intolerant of anthropogenic disturbance and is used in prairie restorations. It is also used in herbal medicine and its fibers were used in ancient shoe construction by Native Americans.
