Sagittaria secundifolia is an endangered aquatic plant found only in the Little River of Alabama. It is often found in association with azaleas, mountain laurel, and holly. It has a thick horizontal root and each leaf arches upward and is 5-10 centimeters long with a pointed tip. It is threatened by erosion-related water quality degradation, silting and turbidity, water pollution, water impoundments, and off road vehicle traffic.
