Sagittaria papillosa, commonly known as the nipplebract arrowhead, is a perennial herb native to the south-central United States. It grows in wet places such as marshes and the banks of lakes and slow-moving streams, and can reach up to 120 cm in height. Its petioles are triangular in cross-section and its leaf blade is very narrowly elliptical to ovate. The species is distinguished by having bumps (papillae) resembling nipples on the flower bracts, and its flowers are white with three petals and three sepals. The fruit is a three-valved capsule containing many small seeds.
