Sagittaria guayanensis, also known as the Guyanese arrowhead, is an aquatic plant species found in tropical regions. It is native to Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, and much of South America, as well as parts of Africa and Asia. This plant was first reported in the United States in Louisiana in 1969. Some authors have mistakenly spelled its epithet as "guyanensis". Its type locale is not Guyana, but rather in the Guayana region of eastern Venezuela, which was considered part of Colombia at the time of collection. This perennial herb has arrow-shaped leaves with ovate lobes.
