Rhodolaena acutifolia is a plant native to Madagascar and is part of the Sarcolaenaceae family. Its name comes from the Latin word for "sharp-leafed" due to its pointed and narrow leaves. This plant can grow as a small tree or shrub and has large, bright purple-pink flowers and dark green fruits. It is only found in certain regions of Madagascar and its habitat is humid evergreen forests. However, it is facing threats such as timber harvesting and potential habitat loss due to shifting cultivation.
