It is a low-growing plant with a basal rosette of grey-green leaves and short stems of fragrant, single, pink flowers. The flowers have five petals and are up to 2 cm in diameter. The plant is drought tolerant and prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is suitable for rock gardens, borders, and containers. It is also attractive to butterflies and bees.
