Pyrrocoma lucida, also known as sticky goldenweed or sticky pyrrocoma, is a flowering plant found only in the northern Sierra Nevada region of California. It grows in mountain forests and clay flats with alkali soils. This perennial herb has an erect stem, reaching up to 75 centimeters in height, and is hairless and glandular with a shiny surface. Its leaves are lance-shaped with toothed edges, growing up to 25 centimeters in length near the base of the stem and smaller leaves up to 10 centimeters higher up. The plant produces a narrow spikelike inflorescence with many flower heads lined with thick, gland-dotted phyllaries. Each head contains up to 40 yellow disc florets and a fringe of up to 20 yellow ray florets. The fruit is an achene with a pappus, growing up to a centimeter in length.
