Pritchardia hardy, also known as the Makaleha pritchardia, is a type of palm tree found exclusively in the moist forests of Kauaʻi island, at elevations below 2,000 feet. It is a fast-growing species, with a trunk that can reach up to 80 feet in height and 1 foot in diameter. Its leaves are 3 feet long. Unfortunately, as of 1998, there were only 30 of these trees left in the wild, all located along a single trail on Kauai. Due to its critically low population, Pritchardia hardy is considered an endangered species by the United States government.
